ELEMENTARY ARABIC COURSE

ELEMENTARY ARABIC COURSE

رَبِّ زِدْنِيْ عِلْمًا

“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

Imam Baihaqi (May Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: “Learn Arabic for it strengthens the mind and enhances chivalry.”

Learning Arabic is important for all particularly for Muslims not only because it is the 5th. most commonly spoken language in the world, the official language of 26 countries, has over 375 million native speakers in the world but also because of many more reasons. A few of them are given below:

  1. Arabic is the language chosen by the Almighty Allah (SWT) for revelation of the Quran. The Quran was revealed in Arabic. Thus by learning this language, you will have a better understanding of the Quranic message greater appreciation for the meaning. When you understand the words, you form a deeper connection with the Quran that will lead you to greater closeness with Allah(SWT) and his messenger Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
  2. Understanding the Quran will also make it easier for you to implement it into your daily life. You recite the Quran in your Salah five times a day. When you understand what you are reciting, you are forming direct connection with Allah (SWT) as they are His words and commands.
  3. Arabic is the language of Islam. The vast majority of Islamic teachings are in Arabic. The teachings of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Sunnah, and hadeeth are originally in Arabic. Many analytical descriptions of the Quran and Hadeeth are in Arabic. Although some of these have been translated into English and other languages, there is a lack of flow with the meaning, and a true understanding will only be achieved through Arabic. The books on Quranic Interpretation, commentary on hadith and Islamic Jurisprudence etc. can be truly appreciated only in Arabic. Translations will always be deficient as they are human approximations of Allah’s (SWT) Divine Speech. Non speakers of Arabic, cannot have access to much of the Islamic heritage, especially since the majority has not been translated.

Hence, you can choose to learn Arabic at least for the reason that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) spoke Arabic.

Learning Arabic is easy. It only requires firm determination and sincere concentration.

So, join with us and learn Arabic to understand the Quran.
